Tumbwine is a 51-year-old single mother who was born in Uganda and lives in Nyarugunda Kambuga Kanungu district. Tumbwine finished school and later became a kindergarten teacher for twenty-four years. Unfortunately, she found herself without a source of income due to COVID -19 and had to find new sources of income as the sole breadwinner in her family. Making sandals was a skill she used with her two daughters to make ends meet during the unpredictable times. “This business has allowed me to encourage my daughters to learn more skills while I look forward to expanding my business with a functional manufacturing space to perfect my products.
